Hoiho cries for help.
We are blessed to have Yellow-Eyed (Hoiho) Penguins breeding close to our photographic studio here in Dunedin, New Zealand.
One of my long term dreams is that these areas are protected for our children and future generations. With Deep Sea Oil exploration looking like a possibility for New Zealand, I am fearful that our sensitive eco-system could be disrupted or even destroyed!
The NZ government has just said yes to Oil giants to start looking for oil in the Canterbury Basin. Wake-up New Zealand! With more airtime given to Rugby World Cup fever here in New Zealand at the moment, important issues that are happening right now are swept under the perverbial advertising carpet.
New Zealanders, put that beer down, turn the television off and open your eyes!!!
Please educate yourself New Zealanders! Don’t let this happen in Aotearoa. Get involved and protest. Here is a recent rally in Dunedin. You can find “Save Otakou from Oil Drilling” on Facebook… Also see Stop Deep Sea Oil.
